Autobiography

I'm a unique person.
It's taken me a while to be able to say that. I used to want to be like all the other girls ..I wanted common names, not Joyce. I only wanted to hang out with popular people. Ehh .. I guess I was, really, just like everybody else. I did things that everyone else did (although I've never done drugs, smoked cigarettes, or drank alcohol) because I thought that was "normal" and "cool." Eeeek I was wrong !!

When I became a Christian at the age of 13, my perspective about many things changed. I became more mature. My eyes were revealed to the more beautiful aspects of life -- such as nature, family & friends, love, freedom, and more. I began to appreciate the Pledge of Allegience and recycling a little bit more because I saw reason behind them. I'm extreeeemly glad I became a Christian. Without Jesus, who knows what kind of mess I'd be today.

When I was a bad kid, I think I was like that because my life was pretty easy. I didn't have responsibilities. That quickly changed when my dad decided to leave my family when I was a freshman in high school. My mom had to take over the family business on her own. I respect and love her so much for that. Honestly, my family used to be well off. But my dad took a lot of our money ..so now we have to be conscious about how we spend. Paying student loans is gonna be the biggest pain in the butt [ ;

I started to care more about school once I realized it really did help put a smile on my mom's face--she could be proud of the student her daughter's become. I went from having a 2.5 GPA freshman year to a 4.0. Big difference !! Haha.

Through all this, I've had the same bestfriend, Francesca. She makes me a better person. I trust her completely. She supports me and only builds me up. I can only hope I do the same for her. She's my FORREAL maid of honor♥

No matter what happens, I love my family to pieces. I couldn't live without any of the people I live with. Once college starts, I'll be excited to leave. But I know deep down I'll miss them every second I'm gone. (P.S. My grandfather has REALLY REALLY BADDD road rage ..so if you see a strong, old Asian man driving a Lexus.. be afraid, be very afraid).

In October of 2006, I met my boyfriend, Harry. We became friends and officially began our courtship on December 10th, 2006. He's the only guy I've ever loved. I tell him everything. He does so much for me. I'm a better person for having met him. We were separted between late June 2007 to early November 2007 because he went away for Basic Training, as part of his service to the United States Air Force. We're going to get married. Roll your eyes if you want; you don't know us. His family's already accepted me as an in-law. I treat his nieces and nephews like they're my own. I love his whole family with every fiber of my being.

I absolutely LOVE meeting new people. I'm afraid of change, heights, and bugs. In order for me to get over my anger/frustration/upset-ness (haha), I need TIME to myself to think and be alone. I walk faster than most people; am allergic to artificial sweeteners, peaches & plums, apples, and dust/pollen; find history fascinating; and love reading the Bible.

Anyone can trust me with anything. I believe God put me where I am on this earth to support and help other people ..so pretty much that's what I try to do everyday.

I'm not perfect. I get easily irritated, am quick to raise my voice, and speak less than kindly of people when I am frustrated with them. However, I do not smoke, drink, swear, lie, cheat (on homework, people, etc.), skip classes, or steal. I am quick to defend "nerds" or whoever is being bullied upon. I enjoy baking, napping, working, and working on jadorejoyce.

I live with my grandparents, mom, older sister (19), younger sister (15), and younger brother (12).
